Our story
The history of our establishment dates back to 1918, when the Diocesan Printing House “Jedność” was founded. From the very beginning, it became the foremost printing facility in the Kielce region.
In its early years, the publishing house primarily offered publications devoted to spiritual life and documenting the history of the region. The enterprise operated continuously, even during the Nazi occupation, until it was closed by the communist authorities in 1949.
From the 1970s, it operated as a small underground printing house. In 1989, the Jedność Publishing House was reactivated, and five years later, the printing facility resumed operations. In 2001, it was named after Adam Półtawski.

Currently, Jedność publishes books in the fields of theology, biblical studies, spirituality, philosophy, history, bioethics, and hagiography, as well as respected textbooks, methodological guides, teaching aids, and numerous catechetical and pastoral publications. With the youngest readers in mind, a separate publishing division - Jedność for Children - was established. We are also a significant publisher of books in the field of play pedagogy. Our catalogue also includes exquisitely designed art books as well as works of fiction. In recent years, the publishing profile we have developed and the diverse range of titles aimed at many different groups of readers have firmly strengthen the position of Jedność Publishing House on the domestic book market.
Jedność dla dzieci (Jedność for Children) – a unique selection for young and demanding readers.

The books in the “Jedność for Children” series are aimed at different age groups and cover a wide range of interests, both educating and entertaining young readers at the same time. In addition to literature, our publishing offer provides much more. We offer ready-made ideas for learning and playing together with children, engaging entertainment, and collections of suggestions for children’s independent activities. Our Publishing House makes every effort to ensure that the “Jedność for Children” books are exceptional in every respect and, just like our favourite childhood reads, leave a lasting impression on the youngest generation.
Our offer includes titles written by both domestic and international authors that have a positive impact on children’s development, manual skills, socialization, and their ability to distinguish between right and wrong. We are fully aware of how demanding our young audience can be, and we embrace this challenge by offering the best ideas that will not only engage children but also inspire parents, older siblings, and grandparents to keep company in reading and playing.
Alongside the publishing house operates the Adam Półtawski Printing House - a modern book printing facility specializing in high-volume production (www.dap.pl).
Półtawski was the director of the printing house from September 1945 until its nationalization. He went down in the history of Polish printing as an outstanding graphic artist and typographer, and as the creator of the Antykwa Polska typeface, commonly known as Antykwa Półtawskiego in recognition of his name.
